Find Out MoreFully renovated in 2022, our spacious one bedroom ground floor
apartment is
tastefully decorated with every modern comfort as you will see in the photos below, and some
unique features you may not find elsewhere:
The Terra Apartment is just a minute's walk from the nearest, sandy beach and only a short walk from Eretria's many other beaches. Because of its geography, Eretria is unique in that one of its beaches is always sheltered from the wind, whichever direction the wind is blowing from - so no excuse not to swim every day! If you're feeling more adventurous, Evia has numerous beautiful if not spectacular beached dotted around its coastline. Being the second largest island in Greece, that's quite a few beaches!
Just behind Eretria, a spectacular mountain range rises from the sea providing a dramatic backdrop. Drive over this mountain through the scenic pass near Eretria - about half an hour - and discover a totally different landscape with lush forests amidst which the majestic peak of Steni Dyrfios dominates the area. The alpine village of Kato Steni, nestling on the slopes of Steni Dyrfios, transports you to the Swiss Alps, particularly in winter when the mountain is snow covered and a popular skiing destination (alleged to provide some of the most extreme skiing in Greece). Continue driving through the mountain passes (snow permitting - not possible all year round!) and you will discover yet more dramatic landscapes and some idyllic remote and unspoilt beaches on the north side of Evia. There are hiking / mountain biking opportunities aplenty both in the mountainous areas and the coastal regions.
Eretria has no shortage of restaurants and cafes on the seafront pedestrianised "strip" as well as throughout the town centre - you will find an assortment of Greek and other cuisines available. Of course you can venture further afield and find restaurants dotted along the roads wherever you drive in Evia. Or, for something different, take the 30 minutes ferry ride from Eretria to Oropos on the mainland (on foot or with your car) and discover a whole new assortment of restaurants there.
Wherever you go in Eretria, you are literally walking on thousands of years of history - the area is one of the earliest settled places in Greece and around almost every corner you will find traces of the historic architecture. The Eretria museum has a particularly well presented set of artefacts and adjoins an extensive excavation site where you can discover for yourself what the streets and buildings of ancient Eretria would have been like. There is also an ancient amphitheatre (currently under restoration so off limits to the public).
